The International Maritime Organization (IMO) and WISTA International are conducting the second global Women in Maritime Survey, running from September to December 2024. This survey, held every three years, aims to collect data on the representation of women in maritime and ocean-related fields, supporting efforts to improve diversity and inclusion in the sector. The results contribute to achieving the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by guiding future policies and programmes.
The survey is divided into two parts:
IMO Member State Survey: Governments are invited to appoint a Survey Focal Point to collect and submit relevant data.
Industry Survey: Open to companies, NGOs, IGOs, and maritime training academies, with human resources teams tasked with completing the form. Further details on the survey can be found here.
The final report will be published in May 2025.
